🐋 Jonah and the Whale Envelope Craft – Preschool Bible Lesson Activity

This adorable Jonah and the Whale envelope craft is a simple, low-prep Bible activity for toddlers and preschoolers. Kids color a regular envelope to look like a blue whale, cut out and glue a whale tail, and tuck Jonah inside the “belly.” It’s the perfect hands-on addition to the Jonah and the Whale preschool Bible lesson.

Teachers and parents can also play the matching Jonah and the Whale Bible song while kids make the craft to reinforce the story in a calm, creative way. Great for Sunday School, children’s church, homeschool, or VBS!


✂️ How to Make It

  1. Give each child a regular white envelope.

  2. Let them color the whole front blue (to become the whale).

  3. Cut and glue the whale tail to the back of the envelope.

  4. Use the included Jonah printable template or draw a simple Jonah figure.

  5. Tuck Jonah inside the envelope to represent the belly of the fish.

  6. Add a googly eye and draw a smile on the front.

  7. Say together: “God saw Jonah, and God sees me too!”
