“God shut the lion’s mouths.”
— Daniel 6:22 (simplified)

God helped Daniel — and God helps me too!

(Have children cross their arms like an “X” for the lions stopping, then hug themselves.)

📘 Toddler-Friendly Bible Story

Daniel loved God and prayed to Him every day.
Daniel talked to God in the morning, at lunch, and before bed.

Some men did not like that Daniel prayed to God.
They made a rule that said, “No one can pray — only to the king!”

But Daniel kept praying to God because Daniel trusted Him.

When the king heard about this, he was very sad.
But he had to follow the rule.

So Daniel was put into a lion’s den — a place where big lions lived.

That night, the king could not sleep.
He worried about Daniel.

Early in the morning, the king ran to the den and called out,
“Daniel! Are you okay?”

Daniel answered,
“Yes! God sent an angel, and God shut the lions’ mouths!

Daniel was safe.

God did something very special for Daniel that night.
This was a miracle just for Daniel.

Lions are still wild animals, and we should never go near them.
But God helped Daniel because Daniel trusted Him.

God was with Daniel.
And God is with us too.

🦁 Teacher Note

Teacher Note:
This story shows a special miracle God did for Daniel. Lions are wild animals, and children should always stay safe and follow grown‑up rules around animals, especially at zoos or in nature. Help children understand that God helped Daniel in a one‑time, special way.

💬 Optional Talking Point for Kids

You may say out loud:

“Daniel was safe because God helped him in a very special way.
But lions are still wild animals, and we always stay safe and listen to our grown-ups.”
