A Silly Preschool Exploration of Fairy Tale Fun

Let’s imagine for a second… what if the Big Bad Wolf wasn’t really bad at all? What if he was just hangry (hungry + grumpy)? What if instead of chasing Little Red Riding Hood, he really just wanted what was in her basket?

Maybe he thought it had cupcakes. Or cheese puffs. Or Grandma’s spaghetti.

Little Red was on her way, oh yes indeed!
With a basket full of treats for Grandma’s need.
She had cupcakes, she had cheese,
And some noodles if you please—
And her polka dot dress blowing in the breeze!

He was sniffin’ down the spaghetti trail,
Sniff-sniff-sniffin’ with his waggin’ tail!
Not a scary wolf at all,
Just a growling belly call—
He was sniffin’ down the spaghetti trail!

Red was skippin’ through the wood without a care,
Didn’t know the wolf was tiptoeing back there!
He was droolin’ for a bite,
But he knew it wasn’t right—
So he hoped that she might share it fair and square!

He was sniffin’ down the spaghetti trail,
Sniff-sniff-sniffin’ with his waggin’ tail!
Not a scary wolf at all,
Just a growly belly call—
He was sniffin’ down the spaghetti trail!

When they made it to the door at Grandma’s place,
The wolf said, “Do you have a fork, just in case?”
“I’m quite a refined beast,” he gave a soft bow,
“And I’d like some spaghetti, politely, right now.

He was sniffin’ down the spaghetti trail,
Sniff-sniff-sniffin’ with his waggin’ tail!
Not a scary wolf at all,
Just a growly belly call—
He was sniffin’ down the spaghetti trail!

Yes, he’s full and happy now without a wail…
Thanks to sniffin’ down the spaghetti trail!

🧺 POEM: “The Sniff-Sniff Trail”

By The Everyday Schoolhouse

Little Red walked through the wood,
With her red cloak up like she always would.
Her basket held a cupcake treat,
And spaghetti warm and soft and sweet. 🍝

Behind her crept a sniffy snout,
The Big Bad Wolf was sneaking about.
But not to growl, and not to bite—
He just had hunger in the night!

He sniffed the sauce, he wagged his tail,
He followed that cheesy, noodle trail.
And when he asked with manners bright,
She shared her snack—he took one bite!

Now Red and Wolf are friends, you see,
Thanks to spaghetti—and hospitality. 🐺❤️

🧺🧁STORY:  “The Wolf Who Followed the Scent of Spaghetti”

A Funny Little Red Riding Hood Remix for Preschoolers
By The Seasonal Schoolhouse

Once upon a giggle... I mean, a time, there was a girl named Little Red Riding Hood.

She wore her usual bright red cloak, the one that fluttered behind her like a little flag as she skipped through the woods.

But underneath it, she wore her special polka dot dress—white with cheerful red and green spots.

Her grandma had sewn it for her last spring, and Little Red only wore it on the most important days.

And today was definitely important.

She was carrying a basket with her favorite things inside: a warm bowl of cream cheese spaghetti, a yummy garlic roll and a cupcake with extra sprinkles. She was bringing them to Grandma’s house—because that’s what you do when someone makes you a polka dot dress just because they love you.

So Little Red packed her basket with:

  • 1 container of cream cheese spaghetti 🍝

  • 1 bouncy roll that smelled like garlic

  • 1 tiny cupcake with purple sprinkles

  • And 1 napkin that had spaghetti drawings all over it

Off she went into the forest!

🐾 Meanwhile… behind a tree…

A very big, very furry, very sniffy-nosed creature was sniffing the air.

SNIIIIIIIFFFF.
“Ohhhh YUM,” said the Big Bad Wolf, but really he was the Big Sniffy Wolf, because today he wasn’t feeling bad—he was just hangry.

His tummy did a loud GRRRRROWL like a lion playing the tuba.

“Is that... parmesan cheese I smell?”
“Is that... creamy tomato swirl??”
“IS THAT GARLIC BUTTER?!”

The wolf’s eyes went wide. His tail stuck straight out.
He licked his lips, tied a bib around his neck, and started tiptoeing behind Little Red Riding Hood.

“I'm not here to scare her,” he whispered.
“I’m just gonna follow the spaghetti scent.”

🐾 Along the forest path...

Little Red was humming a spaghetti song.

🎵 “Spaghetti in the basket, spaghetti in my soul!
Creamy cheesy noodles, I brought the dinner roll!” 🎵

She was skipping and swinging her basket—completely unaware that a hungry wolf was dancing behind a bush. Every time she turned around...

POOF!

The wolf froze like a statue.
Once, he even pretended to be a tree. 🌳
Another time, he wore a flower pot on his head like a mushroom. 🍄

Red just blinked.
“Huh. Weird mushroom.”

🧀 But then…

Little Red reached into her basket to check the spaghetti.

“Oh no!” she gasped.
“The lid’s loose! The spaghetti is leaving a trail of cheesy breadcrumbs!”

Sure enough, behind her were drippy dots of cream cheese sauce, leading right to... the wolf’s paws.

The wolf scooped a noodle off a rock and slurped.

“SLUUURP!”

“HEY!” said Red. “That’s for Grandma!”

“I’m so sorry,” said the wolf, “but I’ve been sniffin’ that spaghetti since the mushrooms and I’m losing my WOLF MIND.”

Red blinked.

The wolf put his paws together. “Please... just one little lick of the lid?”

🧁 But Red had an idea.

She pulled out the cupcake. “I’ll trade you this for one safe trip to Grandma’s.”

The wolf sniffed.

Purple frosting. Vanilla sprinkles. A gummy worm on top.

“DEAL!” said the wolf.

And he carried Little Red on his back the rest of the way to Grandma’s house while singing:

🎵 “I smell spaghetti! I smell a roll!
I smell a cupcake, and I’m losing control!” 🎵

👵 At Grandma’s house…

Grandma opened the door in her fuzzy slippers and blinked.

“Did you bring the spaghetti?”
“Yes!”
“And did you bring a wolf??”

“YES!” said the wolf, holding up the basket like a pizza delivery guy.

“I’m reformed,” he added. “Also... do you have a fork?”

Grandma invited him in.
They all sat down.
And they slurped spaghetti with garlic rolls until their bellies were round and their hearts were full.

❤️ The End!

(And they lived happily ever after.)
