💬 Main Point to Repeat with Kids:

“God gives me good things!”

📚 Toddler-Friendly Bible Story: The Thankful Harvest

Once upon a time, in a little village, there was a happy farmer named Mr. Green. Every morning he would put on his straw hat, grab his big basket, and walk out to his garden.

“Good morning, corn!” he said. The corn stalks swayed in the breeze. Swoosh, swoosh!
“Good morning, pumpkins!” he said. The round orange pumpkins just sat there smiling. Plop, plop!
“Good morning, grapes!” he said. The grapes dangled in a bunch and looked ready to eat. Munch, munch!

Mr. Green laughed. “God has given me so many good things!”

That day was a special day — harvest day! It was time to pick the fruits and vegetables and share them with everyone in the village.

He picked the corn and said, “Thank You, God, for corn!”
He picked the pumpkins and said, “Thank You, God, for pumpkins!”
He picked the grapes and said, “Thank You, God, for grapes!”

But Mr. Green didn’t just keep the food for himself. He filled up baskets for his neighbors. He gave some apples to Mrs. Blue, who lived next door. He gave a pumpkin to Mr. Brown down the road. He even gave grapes to the children so they could snack while they played.

“Wow!” said the children. “God gives us so much!”

Soon everyone in the village gathered around to eat. They clapped their hands, sang songs, and shared their food. It was a big, happy harvest party!

And every time they took a bite, they said the same thing together:
“Thank You, God, for good food!”

That night, Mr. Green looked at his empty baskets and full heart. He smiled and whispered:
“God gives us everything we need. Thank You, God!”

You give us food to eat! 🎶

(Repeat with corn, grapes, bread, etc.)

God made the pumpkins,

📬 Optional Take-Home Note for Parents:

This week we learned that God gives us everything we need, just like He gave His people a harvest. Practice saying “Thank You, God!” at mealtimes this week.

🌟 Adaptive Learning – How Everyone Can Join In

Every child can celebrate God’s harvest blessings in their own way. If a child has limited mobility or cannot use scissors or glue, provide pre-cut fruits and vegetables for them to choose and point to. Helpers can glue the pieces into the basket while the child directs where they go.

For the Harvest Basket Game, allow children to pick a picture card with their eyes or with a simple “yes/no” signal instead of physically pulling items from the basket. When singing the “Thank You, God” song, children who can’t sing or clap can participate by smiling, tapping their lap, ringing a bell, or using a switch-activated sound button.

The heart of the lesson is thankfulness — and every child, no matter their abilities, can express gratitude in their own special way. 💛
