🍂 The Leaf Family’s Thanksgiving Feast

(A Preschool Bible Lesson About Thankfulness — Psalm 107:1)

🌟 Bible Theme:

Giving thanks to God for His goodness and blessings

📖 Bible Verse (Toddler Version):

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.” — Psalm 107:1

💬 Main Point to Repeat with Kids:

“God is good, and I can thank Him every day!”

📖 Story: The Leaf Family’s Thanksgiving Feast

Once upon a breezy autumn morning, in a cozy neighborhood of tall trees and crunchy leaves, the Leaf Family was busy getting ready for Thanksgiving! 🍂

Mama Leaf and Papa Leaf had invited every leaf they knew — cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and even a few friends from the maple tree down the street. There were nearly fifty leaves coming to dinner!

Everyone brought their favorite food to share. 🌽

  • Aunt Maple brought green bean casserole.

  • Uncle Oak carried in a big pan of stuffing.

  • Cousin Fern arrived with mashed potatoes piled high like mountains.
And of course, the Leaf Family’s most special dish of all — their homemade cranberry sauce, made from a recipe passed down through many generations of leaf cooks!

The sweet smell of cranberry filled the air as everyone took their seats. Little Leaf Steven was giggling so much he could barely stay still.

Steven wanted to show Cousin Lily how high he could scoop his sauce — so he lifted the spoon way up… and whoosh! it catapulted the cranberry right across the table, landing squarely on Grandpa Leaf’s nose! 🍇😂
Everyone burst into laughter as Grandpa Leaf chuckled, “Next time, let’s keep the cranberry sauce on the plate, champ!”

The laughter filled the treetop as they gave thanks together. Just then, a familiar “hoot-hoo!” came from the window.

It was Mr. Wise Old Owl, who lived in the tree next door. He had arrived late — but with something special: his famous pumpkin pie! 🥧

As they passed around slices, Mr. Owl told wonderful stories about all the things he had seen through the years — about how God takes care of everyone, even when the seasons change.

Each leaf at the table took turns sharing what they were thankful for:

  • “I’m thankful for my family,” said Mama Leaf.

  • “I’m thankful for my brand-new Bible,” said Papa Leaf.

  • “I’m thankful for this tasty food,” said little Steven, carefully holding his spoon this time!

Everyone smiled, knowing that Thanksgiving wasn’t just about the food — it was about God’s goodness and love.

That night, as the wind sang softly through the trees, the Leaf Family whispered together,
“Thank You, Lord, for being so good to us.” 🍁
