💬 Main Point to Repeat with Kids:

God loves it when we share and invite others to join us!

📖 Story: The Turkey Who Invited Everyone to Dinner

By Church House Collection ©

Tommy the Turkey was so excited for Thanksgiving! 🦃🍂
He had spent all morning setting up a big table full of corn, cranberries, and warm bread rolls. He even polished the acorns to make the table sparkle!

As he looked around, Tommy noticed something — his table was full of food, but empty of friends.
“Oh no,” he said, “What’s the point of a feast if there’s no one to share it with?”

So Tommy put on his scarf and went out across the farm.

First, he saw Clara the Cow chewing grass by the fence.
“Clara!” Tommy called. “Come to my Thanksgiving dinner!”
Clara smiled. “I’d love to — can I bring milk?”

Then he saw Benny the Bunny hopping by the barn.
“Come to my dinner, Benny!” Tommy said.
Benny giggled. “Can I bring carrots?”

Next came Daisy the Duck, Penny the Pig, and even Mr. Horse — all excited to join in.
Soon, every animal on the farm was bringing something special to share.

When they all sat down together, Tommy looked at the full table — and all the smiling faces.
“This,” he said, “is the best Thanksgiving ever.”

And everyone agreed. 🧡

Because when you share what you have and invite others in, you show God’s love.

The End.

🎲 Activity: “Who’s Coming to Dinner?” Game

Have kids sit in a circle. One child holds a play turkey leg or toy spoon.
They say, “I’m inviting [animal name] to dinner!” and pass it to the next child, who adds their own idea.
(Example: “I’m inviting a cow to dinner!” “I’m inviting a sheep to dinner!”)
Encourage them to make animal sounds and laugh together!

As kids invite others to the pretend dinner, talk about how it feels to include everyone. God loves it when we notice others and make them feel welcome. When we share with others, we share God’s love too!

🦃 Teacher Talking Guide: “Who’s Coming to Dinner?”

🎬 Before the Activity (Set the Heart and Scene)

(Helps connect the story to the child’s world)

Say:
“Do you remember what Tommy the Turkey did when he saw his big dinner table was empty? He didn’t want to eat all that food alone — he wanted to share it with his friends! So, what did he do?”

Pause for answers: (“He invited everyone!” “He shared!”)

Say:
“Yes! Tommy the Turkey invited everyone to come eat together. When we share what we have, we show love — and that makes God happy! Let’s play a game and practice what it means to invite and share.”

🕹️ During the Activity (Keep It Engaging and Meaningful)

(Children sit in a circle. One child holds a toy spoon or play turkey leg to start the game.)

Say:
“Let’s pretend we’re Tommy the Turkey. I’ll start by saying, ‘I’m inviting the cow to dinner!’ and then I’ll pass the spoon to my friend.”

Encourage:
“Now it’s your turn! Who would you like to invite?”

(Each child takes a turn saying, “I’m inviting [animal or friend’s name] to dinner!”)

As children play, keep the spiritual connection alive in a warm, conversational way:

Say things like:

  • “Wow, you invited the sheep! That’s so kind — you’re thinking of others, just like Tommy did.”

  • “Look at all the animals we’ve invited! No one is left out — just like God’s love!”

  • “You’re being such a good friend — God smiles when we include others.”

Optional Add-on:
When everyone has had a turn, say,
“Now, let’s pretend all our friends have come to dinner — everyone clap and say, ‘Welcome!’”
(Have the kids cheer and wave, creating a sense of excitement and belonging.)

💬 After the Activity (Reinforce the Bible Truth)

(Wrap it up with reflection and connection to God’s Word)

Say:
“Wow! You did such a wonderful job inviting everyone to dinner. That’s exactly what God wants us to do — to be kind, to share, and to make sure no one feels left out.”

Ask simple reflection questions:

  • “How did it feel to invite others?” (happy, excited)

  • “How do you think God feels when we share?” (happy, proud, thankful)

Say:
“When we share what we have, we are showing God’s love. Just like Tommy’s dinner table — when we invite others, our hearts feel full too!”

🙏 Optional Mini Prayer to Close the Activity:

(Short, repeat-after-me style)

“Dear God,
Thank You for our friends.
Help us to be kind and share.
Help us invite others in.
Thank You for loving us.
Amen.”

🧠 Learning Goal Recap for Teachers:

  • Reinforces Hebrews 13:16 — Be kind and share with others.

  • Teaches inclusion: everyone is welcome at God’s table.

  • Builds empathy and social awareness through pretend play.

  • Deepens comprehension of the story’s main point:
Sharing what you have shows God’s love.

By Church House Collection © All Rights Reserved.

🎶 Full Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Tommy the turkey looked all around, 🦃
He had a big table and food to go ‘round.
Corn and carrots, rolls piled high,
But no one to eat them — and he asked why.

He fluffed his feathers, thought for a while,
Then said with a grin and a gobble-smile,
“I know what to do — I’ll share my plate!
God loves a heart that gives, not waits!” 💛

(Chorus)
Come one, come all to the table today,
We’ll thank the Lord in a joyful way!
Bring your milk, your carrots too,
We’ll share God’s love — me and you! 🧡
Clap your hands and shout “Hooray!”
God loves hearts that share today!

(Verse 2)
Clara the cow brought milk so sweet,
Benny the bunny brought carrots to eat.
Penny the pig made pie so nice,
And Daisy the duck brought pumpkin spice! 🎃

Mr. Horse brought haystack bread,
“We’ll share together!” Tommy said.
Every friend came through the door,
And the turkey’s heart was full once more.

(Chorus)
Come one, come all to the table today,
We’ll thank the Lord in a joyful way!
Bring your milk, your carrots too,
We’ll share God’s love — me and you! 🧡
Clap your hands and shout “Hooray!”
God loves hearts that share today!

(Bridge)
Sharing food, sharing smiles,
God’s love goes on for miles and miles.
When we give and when we care,
We show the world God’s love is there! 🙌

(Final Chorus – BIG and joyful)
Come one, come all to the table today,
We’ll thank the Lord in a joyful way!
Bring your milk, your carrots too,
We’ll share God’s love — me and you! 💛
Raise your hands and sing His praise,
God loves hearts that share always!

Here are thoughtful ways for all children, including those with physical disabilities, developmental differences, or sensory needs, to join in the "The Turkey Who Invited Everyone To Dinner"  lesson:

📖 Story Time: “The Turkey Who Invited Everyone to Dinner”

  • For non-verbal children: Use picture cards of each animal (turkey, pig, bunny, duck, cow, horse). Let the child point to the animal as it’s mentioned.

  • For children with visual impairments: Use tactile props — a small piece of hay, a toy plate, a feather — so they can feel each part of the story.

  • For children with short attention spans: Use expressive voice tones and simple sound effects (gobble, moo, quack) to keep them engaged.

  • Encouragement tip: End the story by saying, “You’re part of God’s big family too!” to help every child feel included.

🎨 Craft: Turkey Sharing Plate

  • For children with limited hand mobility: Pre-cut feathers so they can choose and glue them on. Offer large, easy-grip glue sticks or tape strips.

  • For sensory-sensitive children: Offer smooth paper instead of textured materials and let them color with markers or crayons they prefer.

  • For children who can’t hold tools: Let them choose colors or point to where they want each feather placed, and a helper can assist with gluing.

  • Encouragement tip: Say, “Your turkey looks so special! God made you special, too.”

🎲 Activity: Who’s Coming to Dinner?

  • For children with speech challenges: They can point to a picture card or toy of the animal they want to “invite.” The teacher or helper can speak the name for them.

  • For children with mobility limitations: Have the group come to them or use a large circle mat so they can stay comfortable in one place.

  • For children who need extra time: Allow slower turns and add gentle prompts like “Who else could we invite?”

  • Encouragement tip: After each child takes a turn, say, “Thank you for inviting others, just like Tommy did!”

🎭 Pretend Play Game: Thanksgiving Dinner

  • For children with physical limitations: Set up the pretend table at a reachable height so they can pass or “serve” items using lightweight toy food or pictures.

  • For children with communication delays: Give them picture choices for “who to invite” or “what to serve.”

  • For children who are shy or overwhelmed: Allow them to observe first or play the role of “guest” being invited.

  • For sensory-sensitive children: Keep music and sound low and use soft play materials (felt food, plush toys).

  • Encouragement tip: Tell them, “Everyone has a seat at God’s table!”

🎵 Song: “The Turkey Who Invited Everyone to Dinner”

  • For children with hearing differences: Use simple sign language for words like “thank,” “God,” “share,” and “friends.”

  • For children with limited movement: Encourage them to clap, tap, or wave along with the rhythm — even small motions count!

  • For children who get overstimulated: Play the song softly or use gentle hand motions instead of dancing.

  • For children who love movement: Let them “march” in place or “flap their wings” during the chorus.

  • Encouragement tip: Tell them, “You’re singing God’s love with your whole heart!”

📝 Poem: “Tommy’s Table of Thanks”

  • For children with reading or attention challenges: Read it line by line and let them echo short phrases like “Thank You, God!”

  • For children who communicate differently: Offer picture cards of each line (turkey, food, friends, heart) so they can point along.

  • For children with visual impairments: Read slowly with expressive tone and rhythm so they can follow by sound.

  • Encouragement tip: End by saying, “God loves thankful hearts — and yours is one!”

🍎 Snack Time: Tommy’s Sharing Snack Mix

  • For children with food allergies: Offer safe substitutions — such as fruit snacks, veggie crisps, or rice cereal.

  • For children who cannot eat independently: Allow them to help by choosing or mixing ingredients, stirring, or pointing to what goes next.

  • For sensory or texture-sensitive children: Offer dry, familiar items they enjoy.

  • For children using feeding assistance: Let them still “share” by helping pour or pass cups to others.

  • Encouragement tip: Say, “Look how we all shared and helped each other — that makes God so happy!”

🌈 Overall Inclusion Goal:

Every child can reflect God’s love — whether through words, gestures, smiles, or quiet presence. The goal is never perfection, but joyful participation. Encourage patience, laughter, and teamwork as your class celebrates that sharing God’s love is something everyone can do.

🌈 Encouragement for the Whole Class:

Before starting the song or activities, remind the children:
💬 “God loves every way we share and show kindness! Some of us can dance, some can clap, some can smile — and all of it makes God happy!”

This helps set the tone that every child’s way of joining in — whether big or small — is beautiful and celebrated in God’s eyes.
