Twisty Tim was a happy little candy cane.
He was red.
He was white.
He was shiny.
But… he was also twisty!
All the peppermint sticks standing in the jar were straight and tall.
Especially his best friend, Dusty.
One morning, Tim tried to stand straight like Dusty.
He tried…
and tried…
and tried…
But every time he stood up…
Wobble.
Tilt.
TIPPP!
Right back over he went!
Tim sighed a big candy-cane sigh.
“I look different,” he said softly.
“I wish I were straight like everyone else.”
Dusty scooted over and smiled.
“Tim, being twisty is AWESOME! You’re not wrong… you’re YOU!”
Tim wasn’t so sure.
Then—suddenly—
PLINK!
A tiny Christmas ornament slid off a branch and landed under the tree.
“Oh no!” Dusty said.
“We can’t reach it!”
The peppermint sticks were all too straight.
They couldn’t hook onto anything.
But Twisty Tim?
He had a perfect little hook!
“I’ll help!” Tim said.
He reached out with his curly candy-cane end…
Swooooop!
He hooked the ornament…
And lifted it right back onto the branch.
The peppermint sticks cheered!
Dusty jumped up and down.
“See, Tim? Only YOU could do that!”
Twisty Tim felt warm and happy inside.
He smiled his biggest candy-cane smile.
“God made me twisty on purpose,” he said proudly.
“And that makes me SPECIAL!”
