📘 Toddler-Friendly Story: Alvin the Christmas Moose

Alvin the Christmas Moose loved one thing more than anything in the whole snowy forest…

Hot chocolate with SO MANY marshmallows on top.
Plop! Plop! Plop! A whole mountain of them!

Every Christmas, Alvin wrapped himself in his favorite red scarf — cozy, warm, and a little too long. He also hung tiny twinkling Christmas lights on his big antlers. They blinked and sparkled wherever he walked.

But Alvin didn’t need to do anything special to be loved.
God loved him just because.
Just because God made him.
Just because he was Alvin.

One frosty morning, Alvin poured hot chocolate into two mugs.
Why?

Because his best friend was coming over — Skeeter the Penguin!

Skeeter waddled up wearing:

🧣 a HUGE scarf (way too big)
👟 GIANT shoes (waaay too big!)

He looked absolutely silly.
Alvin loved him just like that.

“Alvin!” Skeeter called, slipping a little in his big shoes.
“I brought… SNOW SPRINKLES!”

With a shake of his flipper—POOF!—tiny sparkly snowflakes floated everywhere, landing on Alvin’s lights, his scarf, and even his nose.

They both laughed and laughed.

They sipped hot chocolate together and talked about God’s blessings:

❄️ the snowflakes God made
🕊️ the birds flying over them
🌲 the tall pine trees
❤️ and the joy of being loved by God

Then they went for their favorite walk to admire everything God created.

But suddenly—SQUISH!
Skeeter’s giant shoes got stuck in the snow!

He wiggled.
He jiggled.
He wibbled.
He wobbled.

Nothing.

Alvin gasped.
“Oh no, Skeeter! Those shoes are HUGE!”

Skeeter giggled, “I KNOW! They make me look VERY important!”

Alvin laughed so hard that his long scarf slipped over his eyes.
He bumped into a tiny tree—POOF!—sending marshmallows flying out of Skeeter’s mug!

The friends fell into the snow together and giggled until their bellies hurt.

Then Alvin whispered happily,
“Skeeter… God made so many things to enjoy. But my favorite blessing is YOU.”

Skeeter blushed and said,
“My favorite blessing is hot chocolate…
…Oh, and YOU too, Alvin.”

They both laughed big, jolly Christmas laughs.

Right there in the snowy forest, surrounded by God’s beautiful creations, Alvin and Skeeter knew:

God made them happy.
God made them loved.
And God made them just right — just because.

☕Alvin & Skeeter Hot Chocolate Mug Bible Craft 

✂️ Craft Instructions:

1. Print the hot chocolate mug template. (download template)

2. Color Alvin, Skeeter, the tree, the mug, and the hot chocolate using crayons.

3. Cut out the mug shape along the outer border.

4. Glue the finished mug onto a piece of colored construction paper.

5. Add marshmallows: Glue white cotton balls to the top of the hot chocolate area.

6. Let dry, then display your cozy Christmas mug craft!

7. Play the Youtube song while they craft.

🍎 Snack Idea: Alvin & Skeeter’s Hot Chocolate Pudding Cups

Fill small cups with:
• Mini marshmallows
• Chocolate pudding or hot chocolate dip
• Tiny candy canes
• One pretzel stick
