📘 Toddler-Friendly Story:
“The Donkey Who Packed a Picnic”
Danny the Donkey had a BIG idea.
“I’m going to pack the perfect picnic!” he said, tossing a blanket over his back.
He packed cheese cubes … lots of them.
He packed five peanut butter sandwiches… all for himself.
He packed a whole bag of crunchy carrots, a cupcake with sprinkles, and a giant jug of apple juice.
He even packed a spoon to eat the cheese cubes.
As he trotted toward the meadow, he saw his friends: Bella the Bunny, Carl the Cow, and Franklin the Fox.
“Where are you going?” they asked.
“Off to eat my delicious picnic!” Danny grinned.
“But… can we come?” asked Bella.
Danny stopped. He looked at his bag. Then he looked at their empty paws.
He sighed. “Well, I guess I could share… a cheese cube. Maybe one sandwich. And half a cupcake…”
So they all sat under a tree. Danny passed out the food, and guess what?
Everyone shared what they had, too!
Bella brought blueberry muffins.
Carl had cold milk.
Franklin brought napkins and jokes.
Danny smiled so big, he dropped cheese cubes in the grass.
“This picnic is even better with friends,” he said.
And from that day on, Danny packed extra for everyone.
The End.

🎵 Song: "Danny’s Picnic Sharing Song"
(Sing to the tune of “The Wheels on the Bus”)
Danny the donkey packed some food,
Packed some food, packed some food,
Danny the donkey packed some food—
Then shared it with his friends!
Bella the bunny had a bite,
Had a bite, had a bite,
She said, “Thanks, Danny, that’s so kind!”
And passed a carrot next!
Carl the cow brought cold white milk,
Cold white milk, cold white milk,
Franklin the fox had sprinkles too—
They shared it all with joy!
📝 Poem:
Danny’s Picnic Poem
Danny packed a basket tight,
With snacks and sweets and bites of delight.
But when his friends had none to eat,
He learned that sharing is super sweet!
🎭 Pretend Play Game:
“Picnic Picnic Pass It!”
Set up a pretend picnic on a blanket. Let kids role-play sharing food with stuffed animals or each other. Encourage them to say things like “Would you like some?” and “Here, you can have mine!”
🍎 Snack Idea:
“Picnic Packs”
Use sandwich bags to make “mini picnic packs” for each child:
-
1 mini sandwich (cut in half)
-
A few crackers or fruit snacks
-
One mini cupcake
-
Napkin with a smiley face drawn on it
Encourage kids to offer their snack to a friend before eating.

🙏 Closing Prayer (Repeat After Me):
Dear God,
Thank You for loving me.
Help me share with others.
Even when it’s hard.
I want to be kind like Jesus.
Amen!
