📖 Bible Theme

Love builds unity

📖 Bible Verse (Toddler Version)

“Love is patient, love is kind.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4

🗣️ Main Point to Repeat with Kids

“Love sticks us together!”

📚 Toddler-Friendly Story

There once was a bright orange glue stick named Gibby. Gibby lived inside a preschool supply bin with crayons, scissors, and markers. Everyone had their own jobs—crayons colored, scissors snipped, and Gibby… well, Gibby helped things stick!

But sometimes, the school supplies didn’t get along. One day the blue crayon said, “I’m better than the yellow crayon!” and the scissors got snippy (literally). Everyone was fussing and sliding around the craft table.

Gibby rolled out and said, “HEY! We work better when we STICK TOGETHER!”

So he started helping everyone fix their friendships. He glued a ripped heart back together. He helped tape a torn paper chain. And he reminded everyone that God’s love is what really sticks us together.

By the end of the day, the supplies were all smiling and working as a team. Gibby smiled and said,
God’s love is strong—and so is glue!

🎵 Song Title:

“Stick with Love”
(To the tune of “If You’re Happy and You Know It”)

🎵
If you love your friends then show it, say Love Sticks!
If you love your friends then show it, say Love Sticks!
If you love your friends then show it,
Then your face will surely show it.
If you love your friends then show it, say Love Sticks!
🎵

📝 Poem

“Sticky Love”
I may not be a crayon bright,
Or scissors that can snip just right,
But I can help with something true—
God’s sticky love will carry you!

🎭 Pretend Play Game

“Giant Glue Adventure”
Pretend you're a glue stick trying to help friends stick together! One child pretends to be “falling apart” (like a torn paper), and another child “glues” them with kindness—like a hug or smile. Talk about how love fixes things.

Thank You for Your love.
Help me stick with kindness,
And build love everywhere I go.
Amen.

📬 Optional Take-Home Note for Parents

This week we learned about love that sticks us together! Ask your child how glue can remind them of Jesus. Practice showing kindness by working on a “family chain” of paper links and talking about how each person brings love to the family.

💡 How Everyone Can Stick Together (Adapted for All Abilities)

Not every child can hold a glue stick, color a heart, or walk to “pretend play.”
But every child can feel the love of Jesus — and share it, too. Here are ways to include children with physical disabilities (such as those without arms or feet) in this lesson:

🎨 Adapted Craft Participation

“Glue Stick Puppet” Craft:

  • If a child cannot glue or cut, give them preassembled pieces and allow them to choose colors, point, or verbally guide an adult to help decorate.

  • Let them press pieces using another part of the body (elbow, cheek, or even using a head pointer or adaptive stylus).

  • Say, “Gibby is smiling because YOU helped him come to life!”

🖍️ Coloring Page Inclusion

  • Offer tactile coloring pages (if possible) with raised outlines OR allow the child to choose which color you should use as you color with them.

  • Say, “Jesus made every picture special — just like you.”

  • 💡 Try it with a headband pointer, mouth stylus, or let the child choose colors while you color together!

🎲 Adapted Game: “Stick Together” Chain

  • Instead of linking paper strips physically, the child can:

    • Pick which name to add to the chain (verbally or using eye gaze/choice board)

    • Place a sticker using an adapted tool or with help

    • Simply be in the center of the circle while others say kind things that “stick us together.”

🎭 Pretend Play Inclusion

  • While others act out being the glue stick, the child can be the “center of the craft table” — the one everyone’s love is sticking around.

  • Adults or peers can gently touch their hand, shoulder, or smile at them saying,
    “You help us stick together!”

❤️ Most of All: Speak to Their Heart

Even if a child can’t speak, color, or craft — remind them:

“God’s love sticks to you forever. Nothing can stop that.”
