šŸ“˜ Toddler-Friendly Story:

ā€œThe Ladybug Who Got Stuck in the Jellyā€

Lulu the Ladybug was always exploring.

She zoomed through the grass, danced on flower petals, and slid down leafy slides.
But one day, she found something very red... and very shiny.

It was a giant jar of strawberry jelly sitting in a picnic basket.

ā€œOoooh!ā€ Lulu said. ā€œIt looks sticky-sweet and squishy-fun!ā€

She tiptoed to the edge of the jar. She leaned in… and SPLAT!

Lulu fell into the jelly.

She wiggled. She squiggled. She flapped her wings.

But the jelly just said squish and stuck to her legs, her belly, even her antennae!

ā€œHelp!ā€ she cried. ā€œI’m stuck!ā€

No one came. The jelly wobbled. The jar giggled.

Then Lulu remembered something her grandma ladybug always said:

ā€œWhen you’re in trouble, call on God. He’s always there.ā€

So Lulu closed her eyes and prayed:

ā€œGod, I’m scared… and very stuck. Please help me!ā€

Right then, a breeze blew through the trees.

A gentle hand reached into the jar. It was a little girl from the picnic.

ā€œOh no! Poor ladybug,ā€ she whispered, and carefully lifted Lulu out.

She set her gently on a napkin and gave her a tiny leaf to rest on.

Lulu blinked. The jelly dripped off.

ā€œThank You, God,ā€ she smiled, ā€œfor being my helper.ā€

And from then on, whenever Lulu got stuck—she always remembered to pray first.

The End.

šŸŽ² Activity/Game:

ā€œJelly Rescue!ā€

Use red playdough or gelatin in a plastic container.
Hide a small plastic ladybug inside.

Let kids take turns trying to ā€œrescue the ladybugā€ with tongs or fingers while saying:

šŸ—£ļø ā€œGod is our help!ā€

Talk about how sometimes we feel stuck—but God always hears us when we pray.

šŸŽ Snack Idea:

ā€œJelly Bug Toastā€

Spread strawberry jelly on toast or graham crackers.
Use raisins or mini chocolate chips to make a "ladybug" design on top.

Let kids say:

ā€œGod helps me when I’m in trouble!ā€ before they eat.

Ā

šŸŽµ Song:

ā€œGod Helps Me When I’m Stuckā€
(Tune: ā€œTwinkle, Twinkle, Little Starā€)

When I’m stuck and feel afraid,
I know I can always pray.
God is with me—He’s so near,
He will help me, calm my fear.
Even in the jelly mess,
God will help and bring me rest!

Ā

šŸ“ Poem:

Lulu in the Jelly Jar

Lulu landed with a splat,
In jelly sticky, gooey, flat.
She wiggled, wriggled, tried to flee—
But she was stuckā€”ā€œPlease, God, help me!ā€

Then God sent help, just like He said,
And out she popped—no more dread!

Ā

šŸŽ Pretend Play Game:

ā€œSticky, Stuck, and Saved!ā€

Let kids pretend to be stuck in jelly.
Others come to ā€œrescueā€ them by praying and gently pulling them free (playfully, not forcefully).
Encourage phrases like:

ā€œGod will help us!ā€ or
ā€œWe can pray when we feel stuck!ā€

Ā

šŸ™ Closing Prayer (Repeat After Me):

Dear God,
Thank You for helping me.
Even when I’m scared,
Or feel stuck,
You are always near.
I can pray, and You will help.
Amen!

Ā

šŸ“¬ Optional Take-Home Note for Parents:

Today we met Lulu the Ladybug, who got stuck in jelly and learned to pray when she was in trouble. We taught your child that God is always ready to help—even in the silliest, stickiest situations! This week, help your child remember to pray first when something goes wrong.

Ā

šŸ’” What We’re Learning:

Preschoolers learn that no matter how small or silly their problem feels, God wants to help them. Through Lulu’s jelly adventure, they discover that prayer is powerful and God is always near—just like Psalm 46:1 says. Even when we’re in sticky situations, God is our helper!
