Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

Main Point to Repeat with Kids:

“God’s Word helps me know what to do!”

Story: “The Jellybean That Got Stuck in the Bible!”

Once upon a time, a little jellybean named Jello was bouncing around the table after snack time. He was giggling, hopping, and sliding all over the place—until he slipped and rolled right into a big open Bible!

Thump!

“Whoa! Where am I?” Jello said, looking at all the pages.

Suddenly, the Bible began to glow, and Jello found himself stuck—right on a verse about kindness!
He read: “Be kind to one another.” (Ephesians 4:32)

“I can do that!” said Jello. “I'll share my jellybean jelly with others!”

POOF! He rolled to another page and got stuck on a verse about love:
“Love one another.” (John 13:34)

Jello smiled. “I’ll give my friends sweet hugs and tell them I love them!”

WHOOSH! He landed on a verse about forgiveness:
“Forgive one another.” (Colossians 3:13)

“That one's hard,” said Jello, “but if someone squishes me, I’ll forgive them!”

At the end of his Bible bouncing adventure, Jello learned that the Bible was full of wonderful ways to live and love. He smiled and said,

“God’s Word shows me the best way!”

And from that day on, Jello lived his life with kindness, love, and lots of squishy forgiveness.

Snack Idea:

Jellybean Color Match Cups
Use a muffin tin or paper cups. Place different colored jellybeans in each and let kids match them to colored circles on a plate. Talk about how each jellybean reminds us of a good choice from the Bible (e.g., red = love, green = kindness, yellow = joy).

Poem

🎵
Jellybean rolled through God’s Book,
Everywhere he stopped to look.
Found a verse that said, “Be kind,”
Shared a hug and changed his mind.
Then he saw “Forgive today,”
So he chose the kinder way!

Jellybean rolled through God’s Book,
Learning lessons as he shook.
“Love each other,” said one page,
So he danced across the stage.
God’s good Word showed him the way—
To love and help and laugh and pray!

Song: “J-E-L-L-O!”

(To the tune of “B-I-N-G-O”)

There was a bean who loved God’s Word,
And Jello was his name-o!
J-E-L-L-O,
J-E-L-L-O,
J-E-L-L-O,
And Jello was his name-o!

He rolled across the kindness page,
And shared with all his friends-o!
J-E-L-L-O... (clap with each letter)
And Jello was his name-o!

He found the verse that said to love,
And hugged his jelly friends-o!
J-E-L-L-O...
And Jello was his name-o!

Forgiveness was the final stop,
He learned to say, “It’s okay-o!”
J-E-L-L-O...
And Jello was his name-o!

Pretend Game: “Where Did the Jellybean Go?”

Supplies Needed:

  • 1 stuffed jellybean (or use any small plush toy or beanbag and call it “Jello the Jellybean”)

  • 1 children’s Bible or any Bible you have on hand

  • A blanket or pillow to act as the “Bible hiding spot”

How to Play:

  1. Set the scene:
Sit the children in a circle. Hold up your Bible and say:

“This is God’s Word! Jello the Jellybean loves rolling into the Bible and learning about being kind, loving, and forgiving!”

  2. Hide the jellybean:
While the kids close their eyes (or turn around), hide “Jello” inside the Bible (between the pages), under the Bible, or under a blanket or pillow nearby — wherever works best!

  3. Let the kids guess:
Ask: “Where did Jello go to learn about kindness?”
Let one child guess or gently search. When they find it, say:

“Yay! Jello found the verse about being KIND!”

  4. Repeat with the words:

    • Love

    • Forgive

    • Help

    • Share
Each time Jello is found, read (or paraphrase) a simple verse or message.

Optional Add-On: Movement Time!

After each round, have the kids act out the word:

  • “Let’s all give a big hug for LOVE!”

  • “Let’s wave to someone for KINDNESS!”

  • “Let’s help clean up a toy for HELPING!”

Closing Prayer (Repeat After Me Style):

Dear God,
Thank You for the Bible.
Help me be kind.
Help me love others.
Help me forgive like You do.
Amen.

Parent Take-Home Note:

Today, your child learned about Jello the jellybean, who rolled through God’s Word and discovered lessons on kindness, love, and forgiveness. Ask your child which verse was their favorite and practice saying, “God’s Word shows me the way!” together this week.
