Story: "The Dancing Dinosaur Who Couldn't Stop Praising"

Once upon a time, in a big, beautiful valley, there lived a happy little dinosaur named Danny. Danny loved to stomp his feet, clap his tiny hands, and dance all day long!

But Danny wasn’t just dancing for fun. He was praising God!

Every time the sun rose, Danny would say, "Thank You, God, for the sunshine!" and do a happy dance.

Every time he saw flowers, Danny would say, "Thank You, God, for beautiful flowers!" and twirl around.

Some of the other dinosaurs asked him, "Danny, why are you always dancing and singing?"

And Danny said, "Because God made me, and I want to praise Him all day long!"

Even when it rained, Danny would look up and say, "Thank You, God, for the rain to help the trees grow!" — and he would dance in the rain!

Danny loved God so much that he couldn’t stop praising. He showed his friends that praising God makes your heart happy!

From that day on, all the dinosaurs joined Danny — dancing, stomping, clapping, and singing praises to God!

Activity: "Dino Praise Dance Party" (Movement Game)

How to Play:

  • Put on some fun worship music (or sing simple praise songs like "Jesus Loves Me").
  • Have kids stomp, clap, and spin like Danny the Dinosaur.
  • Pause the music and ask, "What are you thankful for?" — kids can shout out things they love.
  • Restart music and keep dancing!

Craft: "Dancing Dinosaur Puppet"

Supplies:

  • Dinosaur cutout shapes (or coloring page)
  • Craft sticks (popsicle sticks)
  • Googly eyes or sticker eyes
  • Crayons/markers for decorating
  • Optional: tissue paper or ribbon for "dancing arms" or tail

Instructions:

  1. Color and decorate the dinosaur.
  2. Glue or tape it to a craft stick to make a puppet.
  3. Add googly eyes and fun ribbons if desired.
  4. Write or help them write: "I can praise God with joy!"

Talk while crafting:
"God loves when we praise Him! Just like Danny danced, we can sing, dance, and say thank You to God too!"

Song (To the tune of 'If You’re Happy and You Know It'):

If you love God and you know it, stomp your feet (stomp, stomp!)
If you love God and you know it, clap your hands (clap, clap!)
If you love God and you know it, dance around (spin around!)
If you love God and you know it, shout 'Praise God!' (Praise God!)

Closing Prayer (Repeat After Me Style):

Dear God,
Thank You for loving me.
Thank You for making the world.
Help me dance and praise You.
I love You, God!
Amen.

Optional Take-Home Note for Parents:

Today, we learned from Danny the Dinosaur that we can praise God with joy! Ask your child to show you their dinosaur puppet and do a "dino dance" to praise God!
