Lesson Title:

The Cloud That Lost Its Way — A Story About Trusting God to Lead Us

Bible Theme:

God will always lead us in the right way when we trust Him.

Bible Verse (Toddler Version):

"God will show me the way." — Psalm 32:8

Main Point to Repeat with Kids:

"I can trust God to lead me!"

Story: "The Cloud That Lost Its Way — A Story About Trusting God to Lead Us"

Once upon a time, there was a little cloud named Cally.

Cally loved to float in the sky with all her cloud friends. She liked to drift, twirl, and dance in the blue sky.

But one day, as she was twirling and having fun, Cally drifted too far from her cloud friends.
She looked around and realized, "Oh no! I don’t know where I am! I’m lost!"

Cally felt scared and alone.
"What if I can’t find my way back?" she worried.

Just then, a gentle breeze whispered,
"Don’t be afraid, Cally. Trust God, and He will show you the way."

"But I don’t know how!" said Cally.

The breeze said, "Talk to God. Ask Him to help you."

So Cally closed her fluffy eyes and prayed,
"Dear God, I’m lost and scared. Please help me find my way."

Suddenly, the sun peeked through the clouds and made a bright path of light.
Cally smiled, "Thank You, God!"
She followed the sunlight, and before long, she saw her cloud friends waiting for her!

"Where were you, Cally?" they asked.

"I got lost, but I asked God to help me, and He showed me the way back!"

From that day on, whenever Cally felt unsure, she would pray and trust God to lead her.

Activity: "Follow the Path" Game

How to Play:

  • Make a "path" on the floor with yarn or tape.
  • Let the kids pretend to be "little clouds" following the path.
  • Along the way, ask:
    • "Who helps us when we are lost?" (God!)
    • "Who can we pray to for help?" (God!)

Finish by having kids say together: "I can trust God to lead me!"

Craft: "Cally the Cloud Craft"

Supplies:

  • Cloud cutouts or cotton balls and paper.
  • Glue sticks.
  • Crayons or markers.
  • Optional: String to "hang" the clouds.
  • Space to write: "God will show me the way!"

Instructions:

  1. Let kids glue cotton balls to create a fluffy cloud.
  2. Draw a smiling face on the cloud (like Cally!).
  3. Add string to hang it (optional).
  4. Write (or help them write): "God will show me the way!"

Song (To the tune of "Mary Had a Little Lamb"):

God will show me where to go,
Where to go, where to go,
God will show me where to go,
The Bible tells me so.

When I’m lost or feeling small,
Feeling small, feeling small,
When I’m lost or feeling small,
The Bible tells me so.

Closing Prayer (Repeat After Me Style):

Dear God,
Thank You for loving me.
When I’m lost or scared,
Help me to trust You.
Thank You for showing me the way.
I love You, God!
Amen.

Optional Take-Home Note for Parents:

Today we learned from Cally the Cloud that when we feel lost or don’t know what to do, we can trust God to lead us. Ask your child to show you their cloud craft and talk about how God can guide us when we pray.
