Story: "The Apple That Didn't Want to Share — Until God Showed Him How!"
Once upon a time, there was a bright red apple named Andy. Andy lived happily in a big tree and had a best friend named Wormy — a tiny, wiggly, funny little worm.
Andy and Wormy loved to laugh, sing songs, and tell silly stories together. They were always having fun!
But Andy had a secret:
He didn’t want to share Wormy with anyone else.
"I don’t want to share Wormy," Andy would say. "He’s MY friend, not yours!"
Every day, other animals would come by the tree and say,
"Hi Andy! Can we play with Wormy too?"
But Andy would shake his leaves and say,
"No! Wormy is MY friend! You can’t play with him!"
The animals looked sad and walked away.
One day, Wormy looked up at Andy and said,
"Andy, why won’t you let me play with others? I like making friends too!"
Andy frowned. "But what if you like them more than me?" he asked.
Wormy wiggled and smiled.
"Oh Andy! You will always be my friend! But when we share kindness and fun, everyone can be happy — and that makes God happy too!"
Just then, a kind breeze blew through the tree, and Andy remembered something the gardener had said:
"God wants us to share and be kind to others, just like Jesus shares His love with us."
Andy thought hard.
Maybe Wormy was right. Maybe if he shared his friend, everyone could have fun together.
So the next day, when the animals came back, Andy took a deep breath and said,
"Okay, everyone. You can play with Wormy too! Let’s all have fun together!"
The animals cheered! Wormy wiggled happily!
They all played games, laughed, and told funny stories.
And guess what? Andy had even more fun than before — because sharing made everyone happy!
From that day on, Andy remembered that God loves when we share and are kind — and sharing friends grows more love, not less!
Activity: "Sharing Wormy Game"
How to Play:
Use a toy worm or a cut-out paper worm named Wormy.
Sit kids in a circle.
Pass Wormy around the circle as you sing or say, "I can share because God loves me!"
When the music stops (or you say "freeze!"), the child holding Wormy can say one nice way to share (like "I share my toys" or "I share my smile").
Keep passing Wormy to practice sharing and kindness.
