Milo the Mouse and the Missing Cheese — A Lesson on Trust Sunday School Lesson Plan For Toddlers
Lesson Title:
"Milo the Mouse and the Missing Cheese — A Lesson on Trust"
Bible Theme:
Trusting God to take care of us and provide for our needs.
Bible Verse (Toddler Version):
👉 “Trust in God. He will help you.” — Psalm 28:7 (Toddler-friendly paraphrase)
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” — Psalm 28:7 (KJV)
This is a beautiful verse that perfectly matches Milo's story of trust and God's help — great for teaching toddlers about how God is always there to help when we trust Him!
Main Point to Repeat with Kids:
🗣️ "I can trust God to help me!"
Story: "Milo the Mouse and the Missing Cheese"
Once upon a time, in a cozy little mouse hole, there lived a small, happy mouse named Milo. Milo loved cheese! Every day, he would wake up, stretch his tiny paws, and nibble on his favorite snack — cheese!
But one morning, when Milo woke up, he looked and looked — but his cheese was gone! (Look surprised and act it out.)
Milo ran to his friend Penny the Penguin (remember her?) and asked, “Have you seen my cheese?” Penny shook her head.
Milo felt so sad. "What will I eat? What will I do?" he squeaked.
Then Milo remembered what his Grandpa Mouse always said:
"When you need help, trust God. God takes care of little mice like you!"So Milo sat quietly, folded his paws, and prayed:
"Dear God, I don’t know where my cheese is, but I trust You to help me. Amen."And guess what? Right then, he smelled something yummy! He followed the smell and found a whole new piece of cheese behind a rock!
Milo was so happy! He squeaked, "Thank You, God! You always take care of me!"
From that day on, Milo knew that even when he couldn’t see what he needed, he could trust God to help him!
