🦗 Bible Theme

God helps me be brave

📖 Bible Verse (Toddler Version)

“Be strong and brave… God is with you.” — Joshua 1:9

💬 Main Point to Repeat with Kids

God helps me be brave

📖 Toddler-Friendly Story

Georgie was a little grasshopper.

He was learning how to hop and explore the big world God made.

Every day, Georgie noticed new things—the dirt, the rocks, the grass, and the creek water.

One day, Georgie was hopping by the creek. He stopped to get a drink because he was thirsty.

Then he saw something on the other side…

Berries!

They looked so good!

Georgie wanted one… but the creek was in the way.

He saw rocks and leaves in the water that looked like a path, but he felt scared.

Then Georgie remembered what his mom said.

“Pray and ask God to help you be brave.”

So Georgie prayed,
“Dear God, please help me be brave.”

Hop! Georgie jumped to the first rock.
Hop! He jumped to a leaf.
Hop! He kept going…

And then—he made it!

Georgie was so happy.

He picked some berries and said,
“Thank you, God, for this food.”

Georgie learned that God helps us be brave when we ask.

Georgie hopped by the creek one day
Saw some berries far away
“I feel scared… what should I do?”
“I will pray—God help me through!”

Hop to a rock, hop to a leaf
God gave Georgie help and belief
He made it across, hooray hooray!
God helped him be brave that day

💖 What to Say to the Child

If you ever feel scared, you can talk to God and ask Him to help you be brave. He is always with you

💛 Safety Note:

Teacher Tip:
In Georgie’s story, he was by himself, but in real life, we always stay with a grown-up when we are near water. Creeks and ponds can be unsafe, so we never go near them by ourselves.

Safety Note:
Georgie was in a story, but we always stay with a grown-up and never go near water by ourselves.
