📘 BIBLE THEME:
Seeing blessings all around us
📖 BIBLE VERSE (TODDLER VERSION):
“Taste and see that the Lord is good!” – Psalm 34:8
🗣️ MAIN POINT TO REPEAT WITH KIDS:
“I can see God’s goodness!”
📖 TODDLER-FRIENDLY STORY:
Sunny the Sunglasses lived on a little shelf by the door.
Most days, he just sat there — quiet and waiting.
But one day, a little girl grabbed him, popped him on her face, and ran outside.
The sun was shining! The flowers were blooming! The birds were singing!
“Whoa!” said Sunny. “There’s so much good out here!”
He looked around and saw:
-
A smiling neighbor waving hello
-
A puppy chasing butterflies
-
A picnic full of laughter
-
A grandma hugging her grandchild
Sunny shouted,
“God is SO good! I can see it everywhere!”
But then — a cloud rolled in.
The sky got a little gray.
The wind picked up.
“Oh no,” Sunny whispered.
But just then, he saw a rainbow.
A child sharing an umbrella.
A puddle dance full of giggles.
And he realized,
“God’s goodness is still here — even on cloudy days!”
From that day on, Sunny helped everyone see the good, no matter the weather.
🎲 ACTIVITY: “SPOT THE BLESSING” WALK
Give kids pretend sunglasses (real or paper) and go on a walk inside or outside.
Ask them to spot something good they can thank God for.
Examples: “I see a snack! I see my friend! I see the sunshine!”
Repeat together:
“I can see God’s goodness!”

🎵 SONG TITLE: “I See Goodness All Around”
(To the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”)
I see goodness all around,
In the sky and on the ground.
God made sunshine, food, and friends,
Love that never, ever ends.
When I wear my glasses right,
I can see God's love so bright!
📝 POEM: THROUGH SUNGLASS EYES
Sunny shades upon my nose,
I look around and joy just grows!
God is good, I see it clear,
His love and blessings always near.
🎭 PRETEND PLAY GAME: THANKFUL SUNGLASS SHOP
Pretend to be a sunglass seller!
Let kids “shop” for sunglasses and put them on.
Ask:
“What do you see through your thankful glasses today?”
Encourage silly, sweet answers like: “Puppies! Popsicles! My teacher!”

🍎 SNACK IDEA: SUNGLASSES SNACK CUP
Fill a clear cup with popcorn or crunch and munch and add some colorful hard shell candies to it. You could also just use cereal with marshmallows. Add a label to the front that has a clipart image of some sunglasses with the words "I See God's Goodness! Psalm 34:8"
Say before eating:
“God is good — I see it every day!”
🙏 CLOSING PRAYER (REPEAT AFTER ME):
Dear God,
Thank You for my eyes.
Thank You for all the good things I see.
Even on cloudy days,
Help me remember —
You are always good!
Amen.
