🗣 Main Point To Repeat With Kids
“Thank You God for good things!”
📚 Toddler-Friendly Story
Thomas was a happy little gray mouse who loved two things more than anything:
Donuts and singing songs about God.
Every Saturday morning, Thomas woke up to the sweet smell of homemade donuts floating through the little mouse house.
“MOMMY! ARE THE DONUTS READY?!” Thomas squeaked as he hurried into the kitchen wearing his tiny pajamas.
His mommy laughed and smiled.
“Almost, sweetheart. Want to help me?”
Thomas loved helping his mommy make donuts more than anything in the whole world.
He stirred the dough.
He sprinkled the sugar.
He even helped put colorful frosting on top.
Sometimes frosting got on his whiskers.
Sometimes sprinkles bounced onto the floor.
And sometimes Thomas accidentally ate a donut hole before breakfast.
His mommy would giggle and say:
“Oh my goodness, Thomas!”
Every Saturday while they baked together, they sang their favorite silly song:
🎵
“Thank You God for my donuts!
God is good! God is great!
Put that donut on my plate!”
🎵
Thomas sang LOUD.
Very loud.
So loud the neighbors could hear him through the windows.
When Sunday morning came, Thomas’s mommy carefully packed the homemade donuts into little boxes to take to church.
Everyone at church loved her donuts.
After church, the mice would stand around talking and laughing while enjoying warm donuts together.
And of course…
Thomas always picked one for himself too.
Usually with extra frosting.
And extra sprinkles.
Years passed, and Thomas grew bigger.
Soon he had a wife and little mouse children of his own.
But do you know what Thomas still loved doing every Saturday morning?
Making donuts.
Just like his mommy.
Now Thomas stood in the kitchen with HIS children, teaching them how to stir the dough and sprinkle the frosting.
And every Saturday, the whole mouse family sang together:
🎵
“Thank You God for my donuts!
God is good! God is great!
Put that donut on my plate!”
🎵
Thomas smiled every time he heard the song.
It reminded him of his mommy.
It reminded him of church.
It reminded him of happy memories God had given him when he was little.
Thomas thanked God for donuts…
but even more than that…
he thanked God for family, love, and the special time they shared together.
And every time he smelled warm donuts baking in the oven…
his heart felt happy all over again.
