🍦☀️TODDLER-FRIENDLY STORY:
Today we’re talking about ice cream! It’s cold, creamy, and super sweet.
But did you know… there’s something even sweeter than ice cream?
It’s JESUS!
When we think about Jesus and talk to Him, our hearts feel warm and happy inside. It’s like the inside of us gets a big scoop of love.
Jesus is sweet when:
-
We feel lonely
-
We feel sad
-
We feel excited
-
Or even when we’re eating real ice cream!
He gives us joy that never melts away.
Sally's Sweet Summer Day
Sally was excited.
Today her mom and dad were taking her to the pool in town for a fun summer day.
As soon as they arrived, Sally jumped into the water and splashed all around. She swam, played games, and laughed with the other children.
Before long, Sally met some new friends.
They played together all morning.
When it was time for a snack break, Sally and her new friends sat at a picnic table near the pool.
Everyone had ice cream.
One friend had chocolate.
One friend had strawberry.
Another had mint chocolate chip.
Sally had a big scoop of vanilla with colorful sprinkles.
The children giggled as they talked about their favorite flavors.
"This is the best ice cream ever!" Sally said with a smile.
After finishing her ice cream, Sally went and sat beside her mom in a lounge chair near the pool.
The warm sunshine felt nice.
The water sparkled.
Children laughed and played nearby.
Sally smiled.
"This has been such a fun day," she said.
Her mom smiled back.
"It sure has."
Then her mom pointed around the pool.
"Look at all the good things God gives us."
Sally looked around.
She saw the sunshine.
She saw the blue sky.
She saw her family.
She saw her new friends.
She remembered her yummy ice cream.
"God gives us lots of good things, doesn't He?" Sally asked.
"He sure does," her mom said. "Sometimes we think about the big blessings, but God also gives us little blessings too."
"Like ice cream?" Sally asked.
Her mom laughed.
"Yes, even ice cream."
Sally grinned.
"And friends?"
"Yes."
"And sunny days?"
"Yes."
"And swimming pools?"
"Yes."
Sally leaned against her mom and smiled.
"Jesus is sweet."
Her mom nodded.
"He is. Jesus loves us and gives us so many good things to enjoy."
Sally looked around one more time and quietly said,
"Thank You, Jesus, for this sweet day."
And then she ran off to play with her friends again.
The End.

“Even when we’re frozen still — Jesus is sweet!”
🎲 "Freeze Like Ice Cream!" Game – What It Means
This game is meant to reinforce the lesson concept in a way toddlers understand best: through movement and play.
💡 Why It's Effective:
-
Kids don’t always understand abstract ideas like "Jesus is sweet" — but they understand ice cream = happy
-
By mixing movement with reflection, they can feel the message physically
-
It creates a natural pause for joy, thoughtfulness, or prayer in a toddler-friendly way
🧠 The Deeper Meaning:
When kids freeze like ice cream, they’re reminded of something sweet and still — just like how thinking about Jesus brings a quiet, sweet peace to our hearts.
You can say something like:
“When we freeze, we can take a second to think about Jesus. Even when we’re still, He fills us with His love. That’s what makes our hearts feel sweet — just like ice cream!”
🙏 CLOSING PRAYER (Repeat After Me):
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for being so sweet.
You make my heart happy.
Help me share Your love.
Amen.
