Eddie the caterpillar woke up very early one morning.

It was Mother’s Day!

“I want to do something special for Mom,” Eddie said.

He quietly went downstairs.

Eddie got a big bowl…
He poured in cereal…
Then he added the milk…

“Perfect!” he smiled.

Carefully, Eddie carried the bowl upstairs.

“SURPRISE, MOM!” he said.

His mom and dad woke up.

“Well, my my my!” said Dad.
“Did you make this all by yourself?”

“Yep! I sure did!” Eddie said proudly.

His mom took a bite.

“Mmm… this is delicious! You made it just right.”

Eddie smiled big.

After she finished, Eddie washed the bowl and spoon and put them away.

Then he ran to his room and made a pretty card with crayons and sparkly glitter.

He gave it to his mom, and she gave him a big hug.

“I love it! Thank you!” she said.

That night, Eddie prayed,
“Thank you, God, for my mom and for helping me have a special day.”

Supplies

Paper bowl or paper plate
Brown or tan paper (cereal pieces)
White paper (milk)
Glue
Crayons or markers

Directions

Glue white paper inside the bowl to look like milk.
Cut or tear small brown pieces of paper and glue them on top for cereal.
Decorate the outside of the bowl.
Add glitter and spoon if desired.
