There once was an egg with a banjo so bright,
It strummed in the morning and strummed through the night!
Plinky-plunk-plink! went the strings on its shell,
It played so sweet, like a jellybean bell!

The bunny said, “Hey! That groove makes me dance!”
He hopped in a wiggle and shook his blue pants!
Chicks did a jig, and the tulips all swayed,
To the egg with the banjo that never once stayed!

It rolled down the hill with a twangy delight,
And sang, “Happy Easter to all — and goodnight!”
