📖 TODDLER-FRIENDLY STORY:
Benny the Bunny was smaller than all the other bunnies in the meadow.
When the big bunnies played tag or hide-and-hop, they said,
“You’re too little, Benny. You’ll just slow us down.”
Benny’s ears drooped. His hop was quiet.
He sat under a bush and watched them all play.
One day, a tiny yellow chick named Cheep came along.
Cheep saw Benny sitting alone and said,
“Why are you hiding?”
Benny sniffled,
“They don’t pick me. I’m too small.”
Cheep chirped,
“But Jesus picks you! Jesus loves every bunny — big or small!”
Then Cheep waddled right into the middle of the meadow and said,
“Hey! Jesus says to love one another. That means no more leaving bunnies out!”
The big bunnies blinked.
Then one said, “We didn’t know that! We’re sorry, Benny.”
Benny smiled big.
And from that day on, he played in every game — because Jesus picked him first.

🎲 ACTIVITY: Bunny Hop Circle
Have children hop around in a circle like bunnies! One child stays in the center (like Benny), and the group shouts, “Jesus picks you!” and gives them a big group hug or high-five. Keep switching roles until everyone has a turn.
🎨 CRAFT: Benny the Bunny Puppet
Supplies Needed:

Paper lunch bag

Googly eyes

Pink, brown and white construction paper (for ears, nose, mouth, face)

Glue stick, marker

Label: “Jesus Picked Me!" (use a marker)
Directions:

Cut out 2 ears, big circle (head) and 2 small paws from brown construction paper.

Cut out 2 smaller ears and 1 tiny nose from pink construction paper.

Cut out 1 mouth from white construction paper.

Glue all cutout pieces to the bag and googly eyes.

Draw a smile & whiskers and write the words "Jesus Picked Me! on the front of the bag.
- Use it to retell the story with Benny’s big smile!

Benny was the smallest one,
Left out of all the games and fun.
But then a chick came by to say,
“Jesus picks you anyway!”
Now Benny hops with all his might,
Because he knows he’s picked just right!
🎭 PRETEND PLAY GAME: Bunny Meadow
Let kids act out the story! One child is Benny, others are the “big bunnies,” and one is Cheep the Chick. Reenact the scene where Cheep teaches the bunnies about kindness. Let them make up their own kind endings!
🍎 SNACK IDEA: Bunny Face Crackers
Ingredients:

Pretzel sticks (for whiskers)
